COMPANY HISTORY
Life Settlement Solutions LLC was established and organized to provide a reliable purchaser of senior life settlements. Until a few years ago, there was no established institutional market for the sale of these types of policies, thereby limiting owners of life insurance policies to either surrender their policies to the underlying insurance company or allow their policies to lapse, forfeiting any potential value in the policy. The market consisted of small, fragmented companies and groups of investors whose funds were generally unreliable. Life Settlement Solutions management sponsored and formed the first institutional investor in this market, introducing corporate risk controls, operational discipline, effective supervision and reliability. Management successfully purchased the first major pool of institutionally funded life settlement policies, and to date it has been involved in purchases in excess of $1 billion of net death benefits. The company has exceeded expectations of its funding sources in each year of operations.
Life Settlement Solutions is one of the oldest and most highly‐rated institutionally funded life settlement companies, with substantial market share. Life Settlement Solutions has no viatical history, no individual investors and no regulatory actions or complaints.
In 2004, the German rating agency Scope Group assigned an overall quality rating score of AA+ ('excellent quality') to Life Settlement Solutions Inc. Scope ratings provide an independent evaluation of companies that are service providers for German closed–end life settlement funds and other institutional investors. The 2004 rating results recognized Life Settlement Solutions as one of the largest companies, with a careful, well–structured process management and partner network, able to acquire large policy portfolios for institutional investors. |
