Life Settlement Solutions Offers Answers to Financial Professionals' Regulatory Questions

In response to financial professionals’ call for more
knowledge on life settlements, Life Settlement Solutions, Inc.
is offering educational sources necessary to become successful
in the growing industry.
On June 10, Life Settlement Solutions held Panel of Life Settlement
Industry Experts: Market Regulatory Forces, the first of two panel
sessions offered as part of Life Settlement Awareness Month™. The
interactive panel featured Brian Casey, Esq. of Locke, Lord, Bissell & Liddell;
Steve Walker of 21st Services and Scott Cipinko of the Life Insurance
Finance Association (LIFA), and covered trends affecting the life
settlement market and current regulatory matters. More than 130 financial
professionals registered for the event, with the majority of attendees
listed as life-settlement brokers, financial services professionals
or insurance agents.
The interactive panel was broken up into three sections and focused on
important trends occurring in the life-settlement industry, including
life expectancy underwriting, an overview of recent regulation and
the impact of premium finance relating to life settlements. Topics
covered in each session featured information on changing mortality
trends and tables, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners
and National Conference of Insurance Legislators’ Model Acts
and their impact on the industry, current and pending legislation,
and forces affecting the premium finance portion of the marketplace.
“Our first interactive panel for this year’s program series proved
to be a success in providing financial professionals with the educational
tools necessary to better understand the market for life settlements,” said

in attendance left the presentation with a better understanding of
the important legislative changes occurring in the marketplace, as
well as insight from experienced professionals who understand what
the implications of these changes could mean for the industry.”
Life Settlement Awareness Month was started by Life Settlement
Solutions in response to financial professionals citing a lack
of access to quality education on the life-settlement industry. Now
in its third year, Life Settlement Awareness Month has become
a well-known educational learning opportunity, attracting more
than 1,000 financial professionals to its collection of free webinars,
interactive panels and workshops at major industry events. For
those who missed the panel on June 10, an additional panel with
industry experts will be held on June 30. Presentation materials

In addition to Life Settlement Awareness Month’s featured events,

the chance to participate in one of the first continuing education
courses certified in all 50 states. The course is offered through
a partnership with insurance continuing education provider WebCE
and could count for up to eight credit hours of life insurance licensing
continuing education. Topics covered include the life-settlement
transaction process, the risks and rewards for investors, and relevant
case studies.
